Aug 14, 2007 - Beached Festival Scarborough
Scarborough Gallery updated. The main reason for going back upto Scarborough was the Beached Festival which was worth the journey.InMe were my favourite band. The atmosphere was great on the beach and I enjoyed being back up round the area and meeting some old friends. The weather held up on all of the four days as well!
Jul 26, 2007 - More SEO Tweaks & Projects Added
Well the basic SEO work mentioned in my previous news entry appears to have worked because the Car Gallery and Whitby Gallery pages have been re-cached and taken out of Google's Supplemental index.
As a result I have carried out some further SEO improvements checking over alt tags site wide, adding descriptive title attributes to links and some extra key phrases in the page content.
Some of the commercial Web sites I have worked on at Get Marketed have been added to the Projects page.
In addition, Ludlow Radio Car Club has been tweaked with some much needed SEO enhancements. Both of these sites have been set up to use Google Analytics, which contains a wealth of useful statistics to learn about traffic to the sites.
Some vaguely more exciting news is that I have finally purchased the domain for the extensive project I have been planning and starting to develop: soEmo.co.uk.
I am keen to get stuck into this challenge as I am passionate about developing a site for the UK Emo community...The problem is finding the time to work on it at the moment.
Jun 27, 2007 - Basic SEO Work
Some more basic SEO work completed on site. I regularly check how many pages Google has indexed on my site and it now stands at 46. Even though most of the main pages are in Google's main index, a number are in Google's Supplemental Index. I am not concerned about most of these but would like the gallery pages to rank better. As a result after checking what the search engines are seeing on these pages improvements had to be made.
More relevant alt tags were added to all images and the Meta tags were tweaked to be more specific and realistic to even consider ranking for.
May 26, 2007 - Site Works Again...
I noticed the site template had stopped working (wasn't bringing in the page-specific content) even though it hadn't been edited at all.
$page=$_GET['page']; had to be added at the top of index.php, which didn't use to be required. Also the contact form didn't work at all! Removing the isset() function solved this??
All I can put this down to is the hosting company as they recently migrated my site to a brand new server.

A number of PHP tweaks have been carried out on the site. How exciting!...
- Contact form improved - validate email address using a regular expression
- Gallery - next/previous image navigation sorted.
- Header image randomly generated using an array and shuffle()
- Projects - content & layout improved
- Homepage - content improved
